Overall the star and garter was ok. The lady on reception was really helpful and lovely, and the location is very central and great. The room was very basic, it had amenities that you need but was so small we had to iron knelt on the bed because there was no space to put the board anywhere . Our friends stayed here as well in a same priced room and theirs was much larger so maybe it’s just luck of the draw. Ultimately it was good for the price, I would stay here again as it’s comfortable and great value, I think there is just a wrong expectation set in the star rating of the hotel
Stayed 1 night for a business related trip. Room was clean and bed comfy. Staff are amazing here, cannot do enough for you! Extremely helpful, excellent service. Location is good approx 20min walk from the station but car park available.
Budget hotel in very old buildings so reviewed in this context. I think the mattress probably needs replacing. Kind staff supplied extra pillows on request. Everything supplied that you could need such as ironing board, hairdryer and portable heaters if needed to add to central heating. Breakfast was good. There was a bath with shower over in the room. Bath towels supplied but no hand towels which makes sense as it's just a waste. Free parking for cars but you must register in reception.
Lovely staff and very nice, clean and reasonably priced rooms. Situated in the town centre close to many shops and restaurants, with on-site parking for guests and a tasty breakfast buffet in the morning. The hotel has been very accommodating to my parents, who have been visiting frequently over the past few months. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. 10/10
We had a fabulous couple of days in this quaint little hotel. The staff were very accommodating, as we wanted to use the breakfast room in the evening to play cards. Actual breakfast was really tasty. There was a choice of full English or Continental. Would happily visit again!

Stayed with friends in the hotel the room was really good also the staff and breakfast was lovely and anything you needed was not a problem. Situated for the town. Would recommend this hotel and will go again
I needed a hotel for 1 night and this is right in town, The car park could have better sign posting and an easier link with directions on the website. Unfortunately there was a problem with a double payment, this was sorted quickly by the manager but I raised it with them so they need to improve the integration between the reception and their external provides as I booked through booking.com at a lower price than the hotel could provide which means they lose out something they should look at. The room was great, brilliant size unfortunately this time I couldn't do breakfast maybe next time. The service provided with the refund has made me happy to use them again next time we are in the area.
